ADORATION OF THE MAGI

Adoration of The Magi, II

I just finished a few collages for my good friends, The Ewalds. They took a while to complete but I'm pleased with how they turned out. There was a lengthy search for the perfect rose garden for an Oregon manger scene.

In the context of art history, The Adoration of The Magi was often what fancy Italians called a Bravura piece. It would feature the compositional complexity of crowds, foreign beasts, and rare objects like jewelry and whatever the hell 'Myrrh' is. The story demonstrated the virtuosity of an artist.

On the other hand, my versions show off how well I can get around technical skill and still come out looking good in the end. I don't know what fancy Italians call that.

I developed 10 rolls of 120 last weekend. Now I'm sifting through a year's worth of holga shots. Obviously, there's more to come.

NO STANK YOU

So that's my best attempt at drawing an oral lesion. I realize it brings up a few questions. Such as:

1 – "Do oral lesions have horns?"

2 – "What am I? A doctor?"

Last week, the Washington Department of Health launched the latest iteration of its anti-smoking website. The I Like You Graphik was asked to create a few delightfully disturbing illustrations for the No Stank You campaign. Click on any of the images to visit the site.
